***UPDATE: Ruth Kelly – 2nd Ward City Commissioner, GR, MI and City Commissioner Rosalynn Bliss invite you to attend a neighborhood meeting on Monday, April 13th at 6:30pm at Aquinas College in the Wege Ballroom to discuss the proposed project at 1513 E Fulton. City Planners will be present to answer questions around planning, zoning, parking requirements, demolition permit process, etc. Click here for more information.***
We would love to hear your thoughts on this proposed project for 1513 E Fulton (just outside of Eastown in the Fulton Heights neighborhood). Peter Krupp (https://www.skadden.com/professionals/peter-c-krupp) purchased the Common Ground (Calvary Reformed) Church building at 1513 E Fulton. He is working with Via Design to convert the space to multi-use: a fine-dining restaurant (with alcohol service), coffee shop, some retail on the lower level, and approximately 6 apartment units. They would like to add a parking lot, valet parking spots and service for the restaurant, and covered bicycle storage with lockers inside. They do not plan to make any exterior changes other than minor repairs and a new sign in the existing sign’s location.
They are requesting a zoning variance from residential to traditional business (TBA), green space from required 30% to 15% (although the current plan says 10%), reduce parking from required 66 to 33, and reduce required buffer for abutting properties from 10ft. to 2ft.
We want to hear from you! What are your thoughts, questions, concerns?
